Anticipation

Anticipation is exciting. That’s for sure.


I wanted to wait for another half a month at least for a new post, but it just had to come out today. The idea could no longer wait.

This thing must be shared supposedly weeks before. Nevertheless, I’m sharing it today and I think it is still acceptable. So let’s get on with it.

On anticipating things

What does it mean by anticipation? If you are anticipating things, exciting things, how would you react and what would you do?

Let us observe the world that we’re currently living in today. How do the world anticipate on “exciting” things?

And not to forget, the internet is full of websites, tweets and stuff that update things almost in real-time. So we can imagine hardcore fans of some exciting things will regularly check for updates. Some have them directly fed into their droid, blackberry and the likes. Every morning, the moment they got up from bed, first thing to do is check if there are any news, or updates. That’s what we call serious anticipation.

Anticipation shouldn’t scared people away

We should notice in all the pictures above, that there are no impressions of burden, mental weight, stress, or difficulty associated with the campaigns. You know, something like:

iPhone4 is the next best thing after iPhone3GS. Save money. Don’t buy unnecessary stuff. cos you’re gonna need it for the iPhone4.

or maybe:

FIFA World Cup 2010 is near. Be prepare for it. It will be full of sleepless nights. For those who hasn’t got Astro must be ready to spare some money so you can subscribe Astro Beyond for full experience.

Same thing goes for Ramadhan. We shouldn’t be promoting it with impressions of difficulties. Especially to the kids. Although Ramadhan is actually associated with hardship (Battle of Badr etc), but you know, imo encouragement is more effective. Sometimes we need to change our way of anticipating it.

Try to portray it more positively. Like the picture above, if possible.

So what do we do now?

Here’s a few things I suggest we try in order for us to get the spirit of serious anticipation:
  1. Actively look for information on Ramadhan. Find out all Quranic verses and hadith regarding the fadhilat of Ramadhan.
  2. Talk with friends about it. The more daily percentage that your brain works in processing Ramadhan as its main topic, the better. It’ll automatically be your agenda. Sort of.
  3. You need to be part of it. Do something to really feel that you want to be part of ramadhan. Hang up banners, posters.
  4. Consistent. Just like the regular blog/tweet checker I mentioned before.
  5. Countdown. Yeah you can also try this one.
  6. Alhamdulillah, ISMA and PEMBINA has come up with full of programs for us. Please refer the bulk information I included below. That’s all for now. Anticipate it like it’s the best thing ever! Allahumma ballighna Ramadhan! Never stop praying so that we could reach it this year!

  • Majlis Pelancaran Kempen Nur Ramadhan yang akan diadakan pada hari Ahad, 8 Ogos 2010, jam 3-5 petang di PKNS B.Baru Bangi. Pada program ini ahli-ahli ISMA akan memulakan kempen penghayatan Ramadhan dengan mengedarkan risalah-risalah Ramadhan kepada semua umat Islam di sekitar B.B.Bangi. Persatuan Penduduk B.Baru Bangi, pertubuhan-pertubuh an NGO dan orang ramai dijemput untuk memeriahkan majlis ini.
  • Majlis Berbukan Puasa & Forum Ramadhan akan diadakan pada hari Sabtu, 21 Ogos 2010 dari jam 5pm – 11mlm. Majlis berbuka puasa ini diadakan bertujuan untuk mendekatkan ISMA dengan masyarakat setempat dan juga untuk meraikan sebahagian umat Islam yang kurang bernasib baik dari kalanga anak yatim, ibu tunggal dan fakir miskin. Tempat akan dimaklumkan kelak.
  • Program Remaja & Ramadhan akan diadakan untuk mengisi masa cuti remaja dengan penghayatan Ihya’ Ramadhan. Program ini akan diadakan secara kerjasama dengan surau Islah, seksyen 7 B.B.Bangi. Tentatif tarikh ialah pada hari Sabtu & Ahad 28-29 Ogos 2010.
  • Program Iftar di IPT oleh PEMBINA di sepanjang Ramadhan di IPT-IPT terpilih.
  • Iktikaf Jamaie peringkat Hulu Langat akan diadakan pada hari Isnin 30 Ogos bersamaan 20 Ramadhan (malam 21) di masjid UKM.
  • Program Sumbangan Duit dan Hamper Hari Raya kepada kanak-kanak di wad kanak-kanak hospital Kajang pada 31 Ogos 2010. Sempena sambutan kemerdekaan dan menjelangnya Aidil Fitri, sumbangan ini diharapkan akan meringankan kesulitan yang dihadapi.
  • Kempen RM1 sehari untuk Tabung Palestin. Kempen ini akan diadakan dengan kerjasama Aman Palestin Berhad bagi menimbulkan rasa insaf dikalangan umat Islam terhadap kesengsaraan yang dihadapi oleh saudara kita di Palestin. Duit-duit yang telah terkumpul bolehlah diserahkan kepada Aman Palestin dihujung Ramadhan.
  • Edaran 5000 Flyer Ramadhan dan memasang kain rentang serta bunting di sekitar B.Baru Bangi akan dijalankan bagi menyemarakkan lagi penghayatan Ramadhan.

Manakala antara program-program individu adalah seperti berikut:
  • Solat sunat Tarawih setiap malam di masjid bersama keluarga
  • Tilawah Quran satu juzuk sehari disepanjang bulan Ramadhan. Setiap umat Islam sangat dituntut untuk memperbanyakkan bacaan al-quran disepanjang Ramadhan. Jadikan iltizam fardi untuk khattam quran (30 juzuk) dihujung Ramadhan.
  • Budayakan membawa mushaf quran dalam aktiviti seharian. Ini bagi menanamkan kecintaan kita terhadap al-quran.
  • Qiamullail setiap hari sekurang-kurangnya 2 rakaat tahajjud sebelum subuh.
  • Rehlah masyi (jalan kaki) sejauh 3km sekali di bulan Ramadhan bagi menghayati perjuangan umat Islam di dalam peperangan Badar.
  • Tasmik hafalan juz ke 30 di hujung Ramadhan. Ini bagi membudayakan aktiviti menghafal quran.
  • Memasang lampu lip lap di rumah bagi menceriakan suasana Ramadhan.
